Yoga has been a growing part of my life since I was introduced to pranayama and āsana 16 years ago. Today it is interwoven in every aspect of my life, and I have given myself fully to the transformative processes of sādhanā (daily spiritual practice).

As long as I can remember, I have been curious about the nature of reality, and six or seven years ago, when I encountered non-dual tantra, something within me intuitively knew that I had found what I had been looking for. It felt like a homecoming, yet, at the same time, it was a paradigm shift that radically altered my experience of life from one of suffering and separation, to one of gratitude and ever-deepening intimacy.

It was the end of my search, since childhood, for something beyond the obvious and tangible, but simultaneously the true beginning of my spiritual path, and a recognition of the immanence of divinity in every-thing, including what I had thought of as mundane. Hence, I have a deep love for non-dual tantra and its world-affirming philosophy pervades all my teaching.

As a former biologist, I am also something of a nature devotee (or perhaps it is more accurate to say that my devotion to Nature prompted my studies in biology). I am in awe of the underlying organizing principles of reality that expresses as the intelligence of Nature, and I often draw inspiration both from my biology studies and observation of Nature. From a tantrik perspective the study of the outer world is to also study the inner world, and vice versa. As above, so below; as within, so without; as here, so elsewhere. As humans we are Nature, and the imagined divide, which has brought disastrous consequences to our planet, seems to me to be a reflection of the imagined divide of the I-self and the True Self.

I am passionate about liberation in this lifetime and love working with people who are ready to question their narratives and be radically honest with themselves. For me yoga is ultimately about awakening to absolute Truth, but not at denial of the relative. To live from wholeness and Being-ness, in reverence of the each integrated part - like the wave in touch with its nature as the ocean.

“Fanny's way of transforming theory into a movement session keeps reminding me to move from books, and into my body. Away from my head and down into my flesh, bones, skin. To do, feel, to experience non-duality, to imagine!”
